Mustang Steel Panel Temporary Bridge Provides Permitting and Timing Solution for Solar Farm Construction
To gain access to a solar site in Louisville, Kentucky the contactor needed to cross a federally protected waterway without disturbing stream banks or water flow. Traditional culvert permitting would have delayed the project by several months.
The Mustang Extreme steel panel bridge, designed to accommodate CAT 740 haul trucks and heavy tracked equipment, was transported in sections through wooded terrain using Morooka tracked vehicles. The customer was able to utilize materials onsite – crane mats and stone rip-rap – for both abutment support and on/off ramps.
Mustang Extreme fabricated and delivered an engineer-rated 12′ x 30′ steel panel bridge within 10 days and the bridge was installed in less than one day.
