Innovative Early Childhood Learning Center in Corpus Christi Gets a Hand-Made Playground.
The center point of a new, innovative early childhood learning center in Corpus Christi is its playground, which is surrounded by walls as a safety and security measure.
The location gets lots of rain and needed a design for the foundation of the playground allows water to drain and not create a bog in the middle of the school. To counter the problem, a liner system needed to be installed to facilitate drainage and limit pooling.
The liner contractor dropped off a 15,000 lb roll of liner at the site and left to work on another job. While they were gone, walls were erected around the playground and the contractor discovered they could not get equipment into the area and abandoned the job.
Mustang was called in to complete the project in 7 days, which included:
790 LF of batten bar installed below grade
45,000 sq ft of liner installed – by hand – under and around the playground equipment
100+ pipe boots installed around the playground support posts
Mustang crews are cross trained to handle all kinds of installation challenges and have extensive experience in detailed and unconventional installation and welding requirements. They were able to complete the pain-staking work without the assistance of equipment and meet the project owner’s schedule.
