Composite Mats Keep Equipment Out of the Mud and Two Projects on Schedule
Changing and unstable ground conditions can cause serious delays and expose equipment and personnel to dangerous hazards.
For this recent project in Elkhart, TX to erect communications towers, our customer had gravel flex base already installed, however the primary work area turned out to be a mud pit of soft clay. To keep concrete trucks, a drill rig pump and RT crane out of the mud, they contacted Mustang Extreme for another 20,280 square feet of composite mats.
We were able to deploy the additional mats, then move mats to their secondary jobsite in Navasota TX. This kept two projects safely on schedule – and under their change order budget.
Composite construction mats are ideal for this type of application:
– Interlocking mats are more stable and create a seamless, connected work pad.
– The composite material does not take on water and locks mud out from rising through mats.
-The surface trend pattern improves footing for people and equipment.
