Fast-Deploy Temporary Bridges, Site Access Matting and Detention Pond Installation for Solar Site Construction
Typically built on farmland, meadowed fields and closed landfills, solar farms can span hundreds or thousands of acres. Gaining access to sites often requires traversing unstable and soft grounds, protected waterways and shallow underground utilities, creating hazards for equipment and personal and delays to construction schedules.
During site preparation, soil may be disturbed and compacted by heavy equipment, creating stormwater runoff issues that occur when rainwater falls off the panels and onto the underlying surface. Compacted soil negatively affects water infiltration rates, resulting in damage from sediment and erosion.
Mustang Extreme’s unique offering of composite site access mats, FODs track out mats and temporary and permanent bridges, and installation of geosynthetic stormwater management ponds can assist contractors in streamlining the construction phase of their projects.
Mustang Site Access Solutions
Mustang supports renewable energy infrastructure projects with site access solutions designed to perform in the most challenging site conditions.
We maintain one of the largest composite mat rental fleets in the country, provide fast-deploy engineer-rated temporary and permanent bridges, and FODS trackout mats. With operational sites strategically situated for fast deployment to high-demand areas, we can help you quickly access the most remote and hard-to-reach jobsites. We can also provide installation and removal services, on-site consultations and can assist with project planning and design.
Temporary Bridges
Needing to cross streams and creeks, often in protected or environmentally protected areas to reach solar sites, can cause significant delays, especially if permits are required. Mustang Extreme offers portable, engineer-rated bridges in a range of sizes, widths and load ratings to accommodate heavy construction traffic without causing damage to banks and streambeds. In most cases, permitting is not required and installation can be complete in less than a day.
Temporary Bridge Options:
- Hinged Bridges – Spans of up to 42′
- Steel Panel Bridges – Spans up to 60’
- Hybrid Bridges – Spans of up to 62′
- Long-Span Bridges – Spans up to 95′
- Custom/Skidder Bridges – Spans of up to 17′
